Seaweed has long been used as a soil improver, thanks to its natural content of nitrogen, potassium and phosphates. Endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society, this liquid seaweed stimulant from Plantworks contains organic seaweed extract that improves plant development by increasing chlorophyll production. The feed also contains extra iron from sustainably harvested kelp extract. There are two ways to apply liquid fertilizer to your lawn, foliar or ground application. Since most liquid fertilizers are highly concentrated, before applying the product, you’ll need to make sure it is properly diluted. Otherwise, you risk burning your plants. Having said that, some of the products we reviewed were ready to use so all that’s required is to shake the bottle well to mix all the contents before connecting it to a garden hose. Since you can connect the bottle to a garden hose, you can water your lawn at the same time. But, keep in mind that results take time, and several applications throughout the year are required. That said, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to have a supply of both.
