About this deal

Your experience isn't a failure but a learning opportunity that should now help you to determine what is and isn't the highest and best use of your time and energy.. I like Peter Walsh, I've read at least one of his other books (maybe more than one), have flipped through at least one or two more, & I used to like his tv show on HGTV that was on eons ago. As long as they fit on your table, your job is to come up with whatever treasures best represent the life you’ve lived. That part of us to which we refer as our “greater Self ” loves rather than seeks love. Consequently, there comes the awareness that we are at all times surrounded by love, which is unlimited. Love is automatically attracted to the person who is loving."

All he does is rattle off fifty item lists and repeat the same question ten to fifteen times using different wording. I have concluded that mushrooms must have been involved. While I enjoy Bishop T.D. Jakes and believe him to be a very captivating speaker and spiritual teacher, I approached this book with lukewarm optimism. The title, “Let it Go”, left no surprises about the topic. Furthermore a minister’s appeal to forgive those who wrong us, in verbal or written form, is the most original of messages. I was, however, truly touched by Bishop Jakes’ writing. As a person who has and still does struggle with forgiveness, I consider myself an expert at holding a grudge. As such, I was often annoyed and angered by what I consider over simplified and naive arguments encouraging forgiveness. Some things and people, I thought, just cannot and shouldn’t be forgiven. He has some helpful things in there & some exercises to do/think about that will help you define what legacy you want to leave. Even though this is a short book, I think it could have been written, organized, & presented in a better, cleaner, more streamlined format. He mainly focuses on defining your treasures (things that are truly valued by you & that show your values to those who will be dealing with your stuff after you die) & defining your worthy items (daily or needed items such as clothing, dishes, etc.). He, naturally, also emphasizes (as he does in every book or tv program he's on) that you have a finite amount of space & you can't physically fit more stuff into a set amount of space. There are exercises in the beginning designed to help you sort out your emotions around downsizing, and some specific techniques presented to help overcome some typical excuses for not d0ing it. Also cautionary tales about how people can make mistakes and keep the wrong items and discard things they'll later regret having lost if you don't take the time to be thoughtful about the process. Positive energy increases muscular strength by 500 %`. Come on... I have been weightlifting for 5 years now and being in a good or bad mood doesnt matter at all for muscular strength.

Eh, overall ok. I would have liked a better design & layout, along w/ better editing to really emphasize his core points. Sadly, I think his message is diluted because it gets lost among the other more filler-like stuff. This book is specifically for people who need to downsize either their own home or their parents' home. I don't have to downsize, but I read it anyway since I *want* to get rid of a significant amount of stuff in my current home. We downsized from two homes to one years ago when I had an infant, and I could not deal with sorting through everything at that time, so my current house is not only cluttered with the extras from that consolidation, but also all the new stuff that comes with having kids. I found this book very useful. Let go of the following things to be more authentic and open and true to yourself: Things you never really liked, things, you regret paying so much for, Stuff you inherited and hold onto out of a sense of obligation, and outdated belongings that represent a version of yourself long gone. He is featured in recent documentary films, magazines, and radio interviews (e.g., Oprah Radio and Institute of Noetic Sciences) for his work in the areas of health, healing, recovery, spirituality in modern life, consciousness research, and meditation.

Love is more than an emotion or a thought; it’s a way of being which can only be achieved when we surrender our negative emotions. The energy of love is so high and powerful, that we can heal our bodies and help others heal by being love. His clinical breakthroughs brought appearances on The Today Show, The Barbara Walters Show and The Mcneil/Leher News Hour. In the 1970s, he co–founded several psychiatric organizations, including the Editorial Board of the Journal of Schizophrenia and the Attitudinal Healing Center in New York. The truth of the matter is there are some things that happen in life that you must forgive without the benefit of an apology, for your own emotional survivor.."Peter divides downsizing into two categories: downsizing your own possessions and downsizing someone else's possessions. My favorite aspect of the book is that it explains the psychology associated with letting go of material possessions. I have always been reluctant to let go because I have been afraid that I will need those items later. After reading this book, I understand that this is a form of anxiety.

First, picture a big chain around your ankles that prevents you from moving toward the life you desire. That’s the image I give to my audiences when I talk about attachments. In Let It Go, Peter will help you turn downsizing into a rejuvenating life change with his useful tips and practical takeaways, including how Written by a medical doctor. Sad. How can an MD completely miss the logic and purpose of negative emotions, ignore their foundation in our childhood and treat them as the cause of all disasters and problems?

New York Times bestselling author T.D. Jakes uses inspiration from the Lord’s Prayer to reveal how the act of forgiving—and learning to be forgiven—can lead you to a more joyful, peaceful, and purposeful life.

He understands that he and fellow Christians share spiritual truths “that transcend time and culture and reflect a universal understanding of human nature.” The spiritual truth he explores in Let It Go concerns forgiveness and why it is important for those on the receiving end of wrongful behavior as well as those who commit acts of wrongdoing. What sorts of new opportunities do I want to enjoy in the next phase of my life? What challenges might keep me from making the most of this opportunity? How can I modify my home, my possessions, my relationships and my point of view to make the new life I want possible? One of the laws of consciousness is: We are only subject to a negative thought or belief if we consciously say that it applies to us. We are free to choose not to buy into a negative belief system." Second, think of the similarity between a peanut butter sandwich, a satellite signal, and a thought. They are all forms of energy. They only differ by the wavelengths at which they vibrate. Negative thoughts and emotions are aligned with low, slow-moving energies. Positive thoughts and emotions are aligned with high, fast-moving energies. So I'm holding off on actually rating until I finish the audio book...but so far, I am deeply unimpressed. This book would be about half it's actual length if you cut the lists to manageable size and removed the outlandish claims (such as it being able to cure allergies). It usual riddled with false claims about auras (debunked) and other New age claptrap.Let It Go is my first experience with T.D. Jakes, and it's not hard to understand his popularity as a pastor, speaker, author, and media favorite. Within the first few minutes of this audio CD (and I would highly recommend the audio version over the print version), I was completely hooked by listening to his compelling brew of common sense logic, homespun wisdom, and delightfully colorful analogies, all delivered in the richest, most melodious voice .. . (no wonder he's the recipient of a 2004 Grammy award). I’ve studied the works of Dr. Hawkins for years, and I must say that Letting Go has the most practical value. The stories and examples in the book allowed me to deepen my understanding of the Scale of Human Consciousness (a logarithmic scale of energetic power from 0-1000 that Dr. Hawkins created based on 20 years of scientific study.) He also has an entire chapter about how to manage the situation when you and your siblings have to go through a parent's estate, and some ways to reduce the stress and conflict involved in that. I love that Peter advocates downsizing your own possessions while you still have the capacity to do so. As he stated in the book, that is really gift to your survivors. I have already had to participate in cleaning and distributing one relative's household. It was a stressful and draining process. I wish that I had read this book prior to that process. Peter lays out how to navigate the personalities that can be involved. By the very nature of our being and by the very nature of the life energy that flows through us and empowers us to breathe and to think, we all have that same vibrational energy level of love within us."
