About this deal

Fender has integrated solid-state technologies across its entire product line. One of their most popular solid-state amps is the compact Mustang I V.2, which is a top choice on the practice amp market. The sound quality is well above its price point. When you’ve heard enough affordable amps, you’ll notice how the sounds are mostly cheap and muddy.

There’s a good reason this combo amp has gained a bit of cult following. Everything from the range of amps, effects, and pedals, to the sound is good, and it’s extremely affordable as well. It’s absolutely loud enough to rehearse and gig with (even with a loud metal drummer). Controls of the Mustang are intuitive and easy. It has no menus, no screens, and no complex issues to scroll through. Modeling amps carry presets to imitate sounds of classical guitar amps, which mostly includes vintage tube amps. It has a USB port for using the Fender Fuse software and even recording. The amp also comes with a demo version of Ableton 10 Live to get you started recording your own demos. Not having extensive menus is an issue I like because it makes the whole experience simpler. However, the process of creating the presets on your own might be a complex task. The new Mustang V.2 series includes five new amp models, five new stompboxes, and pitch shifting (only available when you connect your amp to Fender Fuse). New Amp Models in v.2

The V.2 is physically much the same as the V.1, except the outer covering is now tolex and the control panel has a more “modern” look. Overall, the modeling technology and the ability to connect the amp to a PC makes this a handy amp for first-time guitar players and for intermediate guitar players looking to learn about digital recordings and effects. As for the modeled amps, you’ll find great tones on the Fender voices. You can dial-in Fender’s signature tones from its 8’’ speakers and their different vintage amp-voice alternatives. The Fender Mustang I v.2 is oriented towards the beginner player looking for a quality 20-watt practice amp. Loaded with 24 factory presets including a wide array of amps and effects, a beginner can easily find a sound to base their personal tone on. It’s incredibly easy to use, and the Fender Fuse software is very easy to work with. The new v.2 models have gotten minor upgrades to the control panel, but otherwise look very much the same.

Some customers might find the complexity of modeling amps a hassle. If this is you, then maybe you’re looking for another kind of ease-to-use and budget-friendly Fender amp.

The Mustang I is less likely to suffer damage for its small and light. So, overall, there won’t be any issues with the amp or the software. Why should you get a Mustang I V2? Thrift – (Sears 1964 Silvertone) British ’70s – Marshall 1959SLP Plexi British Color – (Orange Custom Shop) British Watts (HiWatt 100 DR103)Finding quality effects on this amp was also quite surprising as most of its competitors on the same price range have poor sounding effects that feel too digital and destroy the original signal of your guitar. Mustang’s effects are very usable. But the quality of this 20-watt Mustang amp is a nice surprise. The effects are also of very high quality, decent enough to belong on a DigiTech multi-effects pedal or individual budget stompboxes. Perfect for guitarists who play a wide variety of genres, the amp can go from crunchy overdrive to heavily distorted with ease.
