The Fimbles are very appealing to children as they are brightly coloured, speak English clearly (except for Baby Pom), they play games and they sing songs. She is unfortunately quite annoying as the patronising matronly voice is rarely encouraging and can be quite grating. The show's real star is left to last: the irrepressible Rockit the frog bounces all over the place causing chaos and hilarity simultaneously. Particularly great is the fact that the same songs are sung each episode by the different characters ('When you take a look inside a book' and the 'Let's go and see' song), and I think this gives Emily something to recognise each time. This allows for the soothing tones of Roly Mo to relax everyone with a story tailored to the found object. I have a six-month old daughter who loves the Fimbles - whatever she's playing with when they come on is forgotten, and she sits or lies on her playmat and watches, completely spellbound.

Pom does not always get things in the way the older ones do - a subtlety that may not always be obvious to the younger viewer. Their surroundings are also very colourful but still bare a resemblance to the things that children may see around them.
